to work? you look at for instance seattle in 1993, they made condoms available in ten high schools through vending machines and baskets and school clinics and a study actually published six years later showed that condom use not only didn't increase, it decreased. how hopeful are you that this will be different in philadelphia? >> i think if you look at condoms as the only intervention, we're not going to see the right end point so condoms are part of a larger intervention, both to raise awareness about safer sex and to provide obviously a tool if young people are interested in being safer in their sexual behavior. what you have to realize is that ten years ago, we had higher rates of condom use among young people than we currently do. at the same time infection has gone up dramatically in the city so while we don't think condoms are the full answer, we believe they are part of the answer and an important part of that answer as we and pa of the health department and people who educate our children in schools need to pay attention to. >> it is an interesting approach. i wish you the best of

for the wall street journal, news day, and up until six months ago i was managing a print shop in seattle, selling business cards to microsoft employees. so i it was kind of a shock to the system, and the term "dark horse" gets used quite a bit in regards to my chances here. but we -- it was an incredible shift towards the positive. i mean, nice to have these dramatic shifts for the better in your life. normally they're -- when something this big happens it's usually for the negative but this time it's very much for the positive. so we were quite pleased. >> what is brownsville like today? >> my experience with it when i went back, it was like so much -- >> saw family there? >> my father still lives there and my grandmother. i made the trip to sort of get the blessings, both literally and figuratively, and it was different. the house we grew up in is no longer there. it's been sold two or three times. graham's house is still intact. still as creepy as ever. and there's a sense of peace there anymore. it's like she is very much living in her late stages of life, and much more calm as a hum

of the west coast, seattle, down to california. christmas leave looks more tranquil. that snow will dumping snow in portions of rockies and colorado and wyoming. we'll be accumulating snowfall and eventually this storm is going to head into the center of the country. it will be a pretty strong storm and very cold air with it. so definitely we're going to be talking about snow accumulations texas panhandle, parts of arkansas and missouri and illinois. some of these countries don't see a white christmas. so we're talking about quite a bit of snow, up to six inches locally and higher amounts, a winter storm watch has been issued across the state of oklahoma. good news for anyone that wants snow in the center of the country. christmas eve, messy day out in southeast and thunderstorms ahead of that winter storm could be firing up as severe weather. we'll keep an eye on portions of south. not just christmas eve but even christmas day, severe weather with thunderstorms that could produce some isolated tornadoes and large hail. >> gregg: it could be making it to grandma's house a little tricky. >>

. fortunately we have relatively quiet weather through parts of california and portions of seattle. showers across the portions of the pacific northwest. as we head into tomorrow and wednesday we have a new storm system that will be arriving producing a lot of heavy rain, three to six inches. the ground is saturated from the last series of storm systems. this could pose big issues across the areas already hit very hard with all this rain. look at the future radar as we head into tuesday and wednesday more rain. basically the northern parts of the rockies we have snowfall. we'll see snowfall across portions of the west coast but even into the northern rockies. dealing with more moisture across portions of west coast even though we dealt with a number of storm systems. jon, very quickly another big story how incredibly warm it has been across the center of the country. 70 degrees for high temperatures in kansas city and 80 in the city of dallas. jon: wow. >> possibly record-setting temperatures. jon: december surprise. maria molina thank you. >> thanks. jenna: you might expect this next story
